I was surprised how different this story was from book 1. I really loved the story and characters in book 1. This book has a great story but it was so tragic, repeatedly. To your writing credit, I felt so much pain for Ben. I really hoped after all the heartache there would be a life lesson ending with a happy ending. Ben deserves a happy ending. I really hope there is another book and please included a stable life filled with prolonged happiness for Ben. I am also looking forward to reading how all the characters are doing.

• Julie’s first book, “I was a Teenage Survivalist”, was an outstanding book that I scored as a 5 – one I thought had appeal to a broad audience, including veteran SHTF readers. This book was not near as good for me. Maybe I was just having a “milk toast” moment when I read the first book.
• Storyline heartwarming and squarely aimed at those who are either new to TEOTWAWKI literature or just want the “milk toast” version of SHTF. There was little action and no tension at all for veteran consumers of SHTF genre. If you think someone getting stabbed and dying is really “heavy” stuff, then you’ve found your author here.
• Writing style actually pretty good - for the milk toast crowd.
• Grammar/Punctuation Only 5 grammar (3 really egregious), and 4 punctuation errors – a little surprising for an Editor’s Choice book, although much better than most SHTF authors.
• I think Julie is a talented author; and perhaps she has found her niche with this book. There’s nothing wrong with TEOTWAWKI lit being aimed at young or uninitiated readers; it’s just not for survivalists or consumers of more serious SHTF lit. In all fairness, I suppose if this book were in a category called “Primer for the Young TEOTWAWKI Reader”, I might have scored it as a 4 or maybe even a 5. Just because a SHTF book has the term, “teenager” in the title does not mean it is aimed exclusively at YA. There are some fine examples out there that any serious adult TEOTWAWKI reader would find to be compelling, realistic and enjoyable. This is not one of those.
• I wish this author well as she continues on her writing journey.

A wonderful read!!
I could not put this book down. I loved it. I thought the storyline was so interesting. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. I sure hope there is a next one in this series! This book was a job well done. Thank you Julie Casey for entertaining readers with this survival series!
Looking at a situation from a different character view definitely adds depth to the story. One of those books that you just have to keep reading. Looking forward to the next one!!
I started this book and read it in one sitting. I just had to see what would happen next with Ben and Sara. It made me think of what I would do without electricity and how to do just basic living. It is a breath of fresh air to see thru a teenagers eyes of what is going on around them and how they cope.
Time Lost is a book EVERYONE should read. The plot is excellent and very thought provoking. The survival concepts are intriguing and well written. Be sure and read the questions in the back too.
